The Ricochets were one of the first wave of Psychobilly bands, springing forth from the Rockabilly scene. Their drummer and bassist both played in the Guana Batz later on, and the drummer also played with The Meteors and The Highliners. Classic early psychobilly meets modern rockabilly.
The Ricochets started out as the backing band for Marney Webb and were originally known as 'Pink And Black'. They were a pretty average covers band in the beginning but after their first recordin “Made in the shade” they were known as one of the first bands to create the 'psychobilly' sound by mixing rockabilly with punk intensity. Whether or not they were the first is debatable but they were definitely forerunners in the English Psycho scene with its members going on to play in such influential bands as Guana Batz and Meteors. What we have here is some great power-rockabilly as you can hear the influences of all the great rockabilly bands that have come before them but with the added fury and intensity of a good punk rock band. The music is infectious and really well played with lots of catchy riffs and a great rhythm section that plays a catchy beat that still pounds.
They play on a Satanic Stomp for the second time after they rocked Speyer back in 2005. Don´t miss it.
