"[...]
They offer us neo-rockabilly at its
finest in the best Klub foot
tradition. Fast and hard, but
melodic and without psychobilly
horror themes [...]"\ - The
Unleashed - The Rock'n'Roll Magazine
Dukes of Tijuana was founded in
2020 by guitarist Mark Twang, drummer
Chris Slazy, double bassist Grischa
and singer Pat Savage. The band
combines rockabilly, country and
psychobilly and skilfully makes this
mixture work very well. Anyone who
likes rock'n'roll in any form will get
their money's worth with these guys.
They first appeared on the scene in
2020, have already played a bunch
international concerts and with 3
studio albums in their bag of tricks,
the guys have been able to convince at
every concert so far and are
constantly expanding their calendar.
Releases:
2022 "Nymhomaniac" - Crazy Love
Records
2024 "Tough Love,
Taboos & Tattoos" - Western Star
2026 "Scary Mary" - Western Star
Story:
As most good ideas, the idea to start
this Band arose on an evening fueled
by Beer and Booze in the Heart of the
Ruhr-Rhine Region in Germany.\par \par
The Band was initially founded by
Chris Slazy , Mark Twang, and Grischa.
The Idea was to have a Band not Stuck
to only one Genre but rather do
whatever feels right in the Moment.
One thing was sure, it was supposed to
be Rock'n'Roll through and through.
Also the Plan was to have a Band
consisting of People who know what
they are doing and all put the same
amount of effort and commitment into
the Band. The three have known each
other in a musical context for quite a
while at this point and have played
together in a multitude of Bands.

So it was pretty clear that this
combination can work together.
When looking for a Singer they
stumbled upon Paddy who at the time
was Grischa'a Bass substitute for
Sandy and the Wild Wombats. Not only
can he sing but he also lowers the
Band's average Age which is always a
Plus. The only thing missing now was a
Name. One thing was clear, it would
have to include the City Tijuana
somehow. The Story here is that
Grischa was touring Mexico with
Demented Are Go and made the somewhat
funny discovery that, in Mexico, they
have the same blue waste paper Bins as
we do in some parts of Germany. So it
was decided that the Band should be
Named "Dukes of Tijuana" Yes, the Band
Name is directly linked to waste paper
Bins.
With the Line-up complete, a Name for
the Band and after a few Rehearsals to
make sure everything clicks, the first
few original Songs were written and
rehearsed and it didn't take long for
the first Gigs to roll in. It was
clear to see that the Plan was working
as all spectrums of the Rockabilly -
and the Psychobilly Scene could find
something they liked in their Set. So
all in all it was well received by
all. Pretty soon after that the first
Demos were recorded and the Band took
to the Recording Studio to record
their Debut Album "Nymphomaniac".
Which is available on Crazy-Love
Records.
Their second Album "Tough Love, Taboos
& Tattoos" has been recorded early
2024 and released by Alan Wilson at
Western Star Recording Company in Juli
2024. Their 3rd Album "Scary Mary" has
been recorded early 2026 and released
again by Alan Wilson at Western Star
Recording Company in Juli 2026
